@Marionette.
Hehe that was pretty neat.
Not very scary though :P
"does this hurt the cow?"
"Would you like me to stick my hand in your stomach?"
pfffhaha.
Sorry but this still isn't very nightmare inducing. The second one was worse because those baby chickens were adorable and I don't feel bad for cows being towed by their legs, it's just kinda comedic.
I'm sorry but documenteries scare me the least out of anything.
Yeah. I've got tons of neat things under my belt, but scary? That's way harder. xD
Hmmmm. I liked this short. I thought it did a better than average job of cultivating creepiness in spite of a silly premise, and it had an okay twist. But again, I probably wouldn't say scary. Just "a pretty alright watch for a horror short."
Oh, here's that home invasions thing. That did get me pretty bad one night. Nothing impossible about it. Just people being people.

a thing that scares me is that, if I scream at the top of my lungs in the night, no one in my house wakes up. I discovered this around age 11 when I had a massive nosebleed that went on and on. I have a phobia of blood that makes me prone to fainting even now, and it was worse back then. I knew I'd be in trouble if I got it all over the carpet crawling to the bathroom, so I yelled for my parents. no response. louder until I was screaming, and then until my throat was raw; nope. so I just kind of lay there passing in and out of consciousness until it had stopped. my bed looked like a murder scene in the morning.
That actually kind of frightens me when I think about it. My rooms in the basement and I have a whole floor in between my room and my parents room and they can't hear anything unless it travels through the vents. So if I'm getting murdered in the middle of the night and I don't make an extremely high pitched scream, no one will hear me.
Sooo...what happened today.
>Went to my parent's house after graduation last weekend.
>They gave me an Easter basket.
>Hells yes, chocolate!
>Been munching on it on and off since Saturday.
>Look down right after biting the head off a tiny little chocolate rabbit today.
>See a little white worm crawling across the chocolate.
>AAARGHJKSDFHGJKDAGH
>Am now trying not to wonder how much of what I've been eating had bugs in it.

Oh gog
agghh oh gog that is. Oh. ;-;
So I tried to use the thread search tool and came up with nothing on this, thus I will assume it hasn't been posted.
Not sure if you guys ever read A Softer World, but one of the authors writes horror fiction on the side and it's pretty interesting stuff. Just found out about Bible Camp Bloodbath and it was a fun read. He does a pretty good job of characterization and tension building IMO, but I don't really do horror usually so that means this is probably not scary in the least since it didn't bother me.
I read Bible Camp Bloodbath. It was groooooosssssss, but not really scary. I liked the parts between Martin and his mom. Tony can suck it. I thought he was a crappy psychopath.
I feel like it wasn't necessarily meant to be scary, just an effort at making a book that reads like a slasher movie. Mostly I liked the fact that in like 14 pages he managed to realize the characters pretty well.
Oh my god. Ahahaha! This brings back memories. Thanks for posting this, I always found it utterly bizarre as a kid.
A quick question for this thread, I'm trying to think of and find a few horror type stories with a more modern, technological basis - but it's sorta harder than what I thought. Most of what I've found are just silly "and then the mario game had pictures of MY FAMILY and a PHOTOREALISTIC MARIO!!!" type creepypastas.
I hope I'm not getting too specific but sort of what I'm looking for is something like The Ring, and the way people could give the curse to one another - it seems like that could play very well into the modern social networking dynamic, so it would be nice to find some stories like that for inspiration.
There's a fair bit of cellphone and email-based j-horror film out there. I watched one short the other day that had a "spreading curse" (though it was more vengeance). It was not all that good (but I really wanted the ringtone that sounded whenever the girl was getting ghost messages, haha). If you're interested in watching things too, I could dig that and probably others up for you. There's also the previously mentioned username:666 which is definitely worth a watch if you haven't seen it (the uploader also has another similar video entitled Another YouTube). There's also at least one Fewdio short that might be relevant, and potentially an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? (but I don't know if I could find the latter).
Here's a story over on the SCP wiki that just might fit the bill, though it's not social networking: I Used to Be Fearless. Spreading curse, haunted computer. Nice twist, too. There are also a number of tech-related SCPs, I'm pretty sure, but I'm currently blanking on specifics. Here's another pasta called Life Owner. I don't like it a whole lot, but it has a curse spread through instant messaging. The Creepypasta wiki has a whole computers & internet section, but a lot of the ones there are pretty lame.
I also follow the blog of a lady who translates Japanese stories, basically creepypasta and personal experience reports, and there are a few you might be interested in: A Wonderful Place, The Headphone, The Things that a Ghost Told Me, What Appears on the TV, and The News Bulletin. They're not all particularly good stories, and they aren't Ring-ish, but they are all at least related to technology. I like The News Bulletin best. There might be more, but those are the ones I remember.

Has anyone posted this yet? Basically any Blockhead music video is like this. I found it on Adult Swim's Off the Air last night.
