Thing is fait, it doesn't sound like a hardware issue. They won't replace a device that isn't broken. Honestly, I think stripping out the drivers in DevMan and forcing it to accept the official ones should do the trick.

Did you try messing around with shape dynamics in brush settings?

Anyway, curiously enough, its Corel Painter which doesnt work right for me, pretty often, after making a stroke a perfectly straight 45º inclined line appears from where I drew, making it very annoying

    Re: Questions Thread

Probably just the Wacom stuff. Might be wise not to fuck with the other stuff in that list; they could be drivers for your keyboard and mouse.

    Thanks guys

Deleting that stuff seems a little bit too risky for me, Magikarcher

Right click on the wacom-related drivers and select uninstall. Make sure your tablet is unconnected. Then, reinstall your drivers (keep the tablet unconnected unless you are prompted otherwise) from the disk or from the website.

This should fix the problem for you!

    Re: Questions Thread

I am trying to uninstall all the Wacom drivers, but the Wacom Virtual Hid Driver isn't going bye bye I am going to restart and see if it is still there.

    Re: Questions Thread

If it refuses to go, continue as if you had removed it successfully, ie unhook your tablet and reinstall the drivers. Hopefully the installation process will strip it out as it replaces it.

    Re: Questions Thread

I am still having the same problem as always. When I used the installation disc it says there is an error in installation and the computer needs to restart, which I let it, then it does the same thing when I try to install again the next time...

EDIT: After googling my problem in every wording I can think of, I think I FINALLY found a solution! I found a 'remove.exe' in a generically named folder ('Tablet'), which is apparently the default destination for Wacom files. This should remove all of the Wacom Drivers, and allow me to start from scratch!

You should tell us what you did here.

    Re: Questions Thread

I went to My Computer>C:>ProgramFiles>Tablet>Pen>Remove. Rebooted. Reinstalled the tablet driver using the disc, following the installer's directions word-for-word, went into Corel Painter, and TAA-DAA pressure sensitivity.

    Art books

    Hey all-
What's a good art book to refer to (if you've never been trained in drawing) in order to learn proportions for figures?

Man, you really gotta read the rules threads before you start posting.

    Re: Questions Thread

I have read the rules which is why I posted in this forum - because isn't it to help those with art questions? That's what I understood the title of "art questions" as but I apologize if my question was posted in the wrong area. I'm still a newbie to the forums. Didn't mean to offend anyone. :*(

    Re: Questions Thread

You posted a new thread, not a post in the Questions Thread. I had to merge it into here.

Oh very sry about that. Thanks for merging it for me!

    Re: Questions Thread

This isn't a question about art exactly, but I know there are some professional artists and whatnot here so I'm hoping there are people more well-versed in copyright law than me.

I am working on making my own game site. While I am going to do most of the art for it myself, I am also going to accept art from players to use on the site. I have seen this model used on other sites of the same genre, and it seems to work well, except for the fact that in most cases the artist submitting the work keeps all rights to their works and this occasionally causes problems (the two main ones being "never mind I don't like this site any more, take all of my images down" which naturally means the site has to scramble for replacements, and artists vetoing practically every feature that involves their work). So, I want to obtain the copyright for all submitted artwork to avoid those situations.

My question is this: If I were to place a notice on the art submission form saying something along the lines of "By submitting this to the site you are forfeiting your copyright and handing it over to (site name). You are giving (site name) full and sole permission to do absolutely anything with this work from now until eternity," would that be enough? Is it that simple to transfer copyright? (is copyright even the correct word I want here? I'm almost certain it is since I'm talking about things like the ability to profit off/make derivative works/general distribution of the work, but I am kind of hazy in this area)

    Re: Questions Thread

At very least you would probably have to make them check off a little "I have have read and agree to the terms of use etc etc" when submitting content.

This is a pretty good reference for copyright stuff.

    Re: Questions Thread

I tend to use a creative commons license on my work. I dunno if creative commons is what you are looking for or not but do check it out- http://creativecommons.org/

Also, in terms of copyright law, as you have correctly understood you must explicitly state to a use that they will be forfeiting their rights. However, it is best to get them to sign approval. Otherwise, you may find yourself with users claiming you never told them you gain the rights to any submissions.

    Best of luck!

openCanvas v1.1 - b71 is great for people with tablets because it is basically Paint for tablet users. I think 'nic also recommended it for coloring/painting. I personally use it even though I don't use a tablet because its very, very simple and intuitive to use, and if you know how to, you can actually collaborate with people online, drawing together with it.
GIMP should be obvious considering how many people have suggested it for solutions to problems mentioned so far.

You use the method described previously. HOWEVER. There is a way to animate it WITHOUT having to make all the frames the same frame length!

Follow it up by saving as previously stated, except WITHOUT checking or entering in the "use delay for all frames" stuff.

    Re: Questions Thread

So I saw this video of a guy that while using photoshop made the colour selection and the brush stuff appear when he used right click, in my version only the brush selection pops up, does anyone know how to change that?
