seriously this is an excellent arrangement. I have one complaint though, and that's that, well... dream up extra arms and play advanced viola part

Thanks, I've spent like the last 4 weeks on it. I really thought it would be awesome to be able to play some Homestuck in my school orchestra, so... Motivation FTW! XD Now whether they can actually play it... Glad you guys like it though!
Oh, and maybe people who have been asking about SBurban Jungle parts *looks back a few pages* can just grab them from here...

I tried to map out the vocal part a couple weeks ago but got tangled up in all the RHYTHMS and MELODIES.

I got something resembling first two verses done though, because those were much slower, I might post those (if I were not on my other computer).

Although, I'm pretty sure I got a lot wrong and someone better then me is probably on it.

I pretty much ghettorigged the Sarabande sheets, using crop tool in paint and just manually deleting as much of the background as possible, but in the end I don't think it really helped all that much.

I took the liberty of cleaning up Sarabande and putting it into a white-background PDF file for easy printing. It's here. I suppose I could do the same for Ruins, but it'd probably be a little while... because of real-life stuff I have to do, I'd probably get it up in around 6-7 hours.

edit: every so often there are two forumites in a thread that are... MADE FOR EACH OTHER.

edit the second: cleaned up, added the tie in measure 47-48, added some tempo markings. i'm basically in the scarlet throes for this thread and also for Jit

Well regardless of the backgrounds, I just played through Ruins and Sarabande, and they both sound terrific.

Ruins was one of my favorite tracks off of Vol. 5, so I seriously sat and just played it in a loop for like half and hour. I think I have most of it memorized now.

I've tried a little bit on Black, alas, for any given song, I have about a 50% chance of actually transcribing it, regardless of the actual complexity of the song. Black seems to have fallen on the bad end of that line. If anyone can help me out, I want the Sax and Synth parts so I can play the melody on my sax.

I got the melody down, but I'm not sure how accurate it is. I don't believe anyone better then me has transcribed it yet though.

I can tell you used Homestuck Anthem and not Homestuck, because Homestuck is in 6/8 (I wanna say) where Anthem is in 4/4. Also they're both in D rather than C, which is what you transcribed them in.

But really yours looks much nicer with the black and white and all. The only tiny note thing that's wrong is that there's supposed to be a tie on the C# of the...fourth to last measure, is that what it would be? Anyway you could probably tell just be looking at it.

If you look closely it's technically not in C. (Is that the right way to state it?) The way I do these is I learn the melody on piano by ear then transcribe that. In this case, I did this late at night and didn't want to bother with figuring out the key from what notes I used, so I just decided to put it in C and use accidentals. In fact, I'm still not sure what the right key is.

And you don't seem condescending at all, I appreciate the feedback. ^_^
